Employee Training Tracker Excel Template Features
This Employee Training Tracker basically helps you organize and track training plan of your employees. The main parts of the Excel template are as follows:
- Dashboard & Settings
- Databases: Employee & Training
- Schedule and Registration
- Summary Charts & Training Calendar
Dashboard
The dashboard section of the template has two main uses. The first use is the easy navigation between sections. In addition, here is where you define the settings of your Employee Training Tracker.
Training Tracker Template Settings
Located in the dashboard of your product, settings are where to start using your tracker. Input departments, job titles, training categories in the relevant cells.
Besides, make sure to include training rating labels and order, as well as types. As the last step, input your desired currency.
Remember that your settings input will be used in the rest of the template. Available dropdown selections will populate according to your settings.
After you finish the setting configurations, you may move forwards with the database sections.
Employee Database
In training tracker template, input employee information in this section. After inputting the names, please select department and job title from the dropdown menu. Optionally, you may also include contact details such as e-mail addresses and phone numbers.
Training Database
Similar to the employee database, this section is also for your training log data input. Input the specific training name first. Following that, you may use the dropdown menu to choose category and type of the training. Last but not least, input the duration of the training in hours.
Training Schedule
In this section, you may plan all your employee training programs. You may select the training name and its status from the dropdown menu. Please also include the beginning and the end dates of the training, expected number of participants, as well as the total cost.
Employee Registration
The registration section is where you assign each training to specific employees, one by one. To do so, you only need to use the dropdown selections in training tracker template! Just select the training, year, and employee.
Now you have created your employee registration list. But, how to track training attendance in Excel?
You can use the Yes-No dropdown menus to track training attendance in Excel. Then with Countif/countifs formula, you can count number of attendees. This template will show you attendance numbers on the summary dashboard.
Also here, in the last column, you may also select the feedback ratings of the participants.
Now that you have finished all your input in the Employee Training Tracker, take a look at your outputs and filter them as you wish!
Training Tracker Calendar
Here you can view the training plan in your dynamic employee development calendar. The calendar is totally flexible. Just select the year and month, following that the calendar will populate automatically.
If you don’t have training sessions during the weekends, you may exclude the weekends from the calendar.
Summary of Employee Training Tracker
In the summary section, you will find the overall analysis of your employee training management. You may use the category, training and the year filters on top to dynamically update the figures and charts.
The left side of the summary sheets gives you a clear understanding of the total training number, average rating, total hours of training and total budget. Whereas the rest is full of creative and professional charts showcasing the details of the training.

Hi Elena,
It seems like there had been corruption on your file as some of the formulas were removed. This might be caused by overwriting the formulas.
We have created a fresh file for you with your own data and shared it with you via contact@someka.net.
Please check your mail attachments.
The gray areas are formulated ranges. Please do not clean or change the formulas here. When you input the trainee name, the department and job title will automatically display.
